Your toddler rapidly develops a sense of being a separate independent person with personal rights, preferences and ploys. She no longer sees herself as part of you, so she no longer easily accepts your total control over her life. She wants to assert herself and it is right that she should do so. Her "wilfulness" is a sign that she is growing up and that she feels secure enough to try to manage things for herself.
