Chicken Pox attacked!

18th Nov marked the day mummy spot 2 blisters on me, one at left eyebrow & the other at back of my bottom.

We went doctor and since is still early stage, I was given this antiviral medicine - acyclovir(Zovirax) to stop the virus from further outbreak. This medi must be taken within the first 2 days for it effectiveness. Just this medicine alone, we paid $112 for it but it was worth paying as my outbreak isn't much, guess less than 50 spots for whole body.
The first 2 days I drink alot of cooling water like leng leong, barley & chestnut water. Eggs, chickens, beans, peanuts, cucumber & seafood cannot be consumed. Mummy cook porridge with pork floss & caixin for me if not will be fishball noodles.

Next was to isolate away from my sister. I was forbited to go inside meimei's room, only can watch her from doorway. Coz meimei is still young so this is the only way to help minimize the spreading. She can't take vaccine as she's not 1yr old yet. Mummy can only constantly checking on her and go to doc straight once spot blister. Doctor advise to con't checking on her for total of 3wks as symptons appear after the initial exposure can occur within the 3wks after contacted the virus.

Some information to share on Chicken pox
Chickenpox is very highly contagious. It is easily passed through airborne particles, droplets in exhaled air and fluid from the blisters. Patients are contagious up to five days (more commonly, one to two days) before and five days after the date that their rash appears. When the sores have crusted over, the person is usually no longer contagious. Symptoms tend to appear 14 to 16 days after the initial exposure but can occur any time from 10 days up to 21 days after contact with the virus.

So what's next? Yes! Shingles - is a skin rash caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. After an individual has chickenpox, this virus lives in the nervous system and is never fully cleared from the body. Under certain circumstances, such as emotional stress, immune deficiency etc, the virus reactivates and causes shingles. Chinese call it "Snake" disease.
